On January 26, 2011, national legislation was introduced by Congressman Tim Bishop (D-NY) that would aid school districts in the management of concussion protocols for their student-athletes. In addition, several states have adopted concussion laws over the past two years, designed to protect student-athletes from returning to play without medical supervision and in some cases to help reintegrate the student back into a complete academic experience after sustaining an injury.
