WA: Seattle Children's Hospital provides athletic trainers

Seattle Children's Hospital is doing its part to make sporting activities safer in the Puget Sound region.  Under contract with Seattle Public Schools, the hospital is providing eight athletic trainers (ATs) to area high schools and also oversees those employed by the school district.  These healthcare professionals provide on-site assitance to youth athletes as well as pre- and post-season care.  They also focus on education in the areas of sports injuries, prevention, and nutrition.

The ATs are Board Certified.  They provide care at all home and away varsity footbal games and every home meet for wrestling and gymnastics.  They are available on a fee-for-service basis to cover additional regional sporting events or competitions at private institutions.
